About

The South Barrow Team Ministry consists of two parishes – the parish of St. George with St. Luke and St. Perran and the parish of St. Aidan. It stretches from the town centre to Roose, including Newbarns, Risedale, Roosecote, Yarlside, Holbeck, Greengate and Salthouse; six primary schools and Furness Academy are all within this area. Each parish has its own worship centre – the church of St. George the Martyr (the civic church for Barrow-in-Furness), and the church of St. Aidan. Please use the buttons above to find out more about the churches, halls and the clergy team.

In our church family, everyone is important and all have a part to play.
We want to help ourselves and those around us, to discover more of the goodness of serving God with all of our lives; we do this as a response to the love God has first shown us and desire to grow in our Christian faith.

We value and treasure the past, and thank God for all his creativity in the present – therefore, our services reflect a mix of the ‘old’ and the ‘new’.
God did not make us all the same, so it is no surprise that we all connect with God in different ways – but, together, God calls us to follow Jesus and love each other.

We are not a perfect church and we have not got it all ‘sewn up’ – and probably never will!

We seek to be a real authentic expression of a community of faith in Jesus Christ – and you are very welcome to join us.

If you have questions about Jesus, Christianity, or are a new or lapsed Christian, we would love to help you.
