Canon Gary Cregeen, Team Rector
T: 01229 877367 E: email@example.com
Gary is Whitehaven born and bred – he worked in the town, in industry and local government, for eighteen years, before moving to London where he trained for the ministry at Oak Hill Theological College.
Having served his title at St John’s, Carlisle, Gary became Vicar of Scotby and Cotehill with Cumwhinton in 2003.
In 2012 he became Team Rector of South Barrow and Rural Dean of Barrow; he was previously Rural Dean of Brampton. In 2014 Gary was appointed Honorary Canon of Carlisle Cathedral.
Gary is a Trustee of Barrow Foodbank and was the Chair of Trustees from 2012 until 2015.
In 1987 at Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, Gary married his wife Julie, a Teaching Assistant; they had met five years earlier on a Pathfinder Venture at Windermere and subsequently led a CPAS Venture Team for a number of years.
Gary and Julie enjoy walking, as well as travelling and socialising.
Rev’d Jo Northey, Team Vicar
T: 01229 364246 E: firstname.lastname@example.org
Jo is the clergy daughter who said she would never either become a vicar or marry one … needless to say she was not only ordained herself, but is married to Ed, who is currently Chaplain at Furness General Hospital!
Jo has had a varied career, loosely based around teaching – with times teaching in Secondary Science, co-ordinating courses in keyhole surgery, running In-service training programmes in Malawi with VSO and working as a Youth Worker for St. Andrew’s Anglican Church in Hong Kong.
It was when she returned to England, to study at Trinity College, that she met and married Ed.
They have been in Barrow since 2011, having moved from Swindon where Jo started her training in order to find the right curacy opportunities for them as a couple – since arriving in Barrow, Jo has been part of the team to set up the Barrow foodbank, as well as having a second baby.
She is excited about the future with so many exciting opportunities in the South Barrow Team and is looking forward to the continued growth of our Messy Church!
Rev’d Robin Ham, Assistant Curate (Pioneer Ministry)
T: 07828 333 106 E: email@example.com
Robin is a Wirral lad, and is glad to be back in the North-West after eight years ‘down south’, including three years working with students, young adults and families for a church in Cheltenham.
Robin is married to Zoe and they have two young children, and so Peppa Pig has become all too familiar! You can read more about how he became a Christian here.
He enjoys thinking and writing about how the Christian faith interacts with contemporary culture and he blogs at That Happy Certainty. He loves helping people to see why knowing Jesus makes sense of life and has been involved with events for those investigating Christianity in workplaces, homes and colleges.
Part of Robin’s role in Barrow is focused on pioneer ministry and church-planting.
