A funeral is used to mark the end of a person’s life here on earth – family and friends come together to express grief, give thanks for the life lived and commend the person into God’s keeping.

All who have died within the parishes of St. Aidan’s and St. George’s with St. Luke’s and St. Perran’s are entitled to a funeral service conducted by a minister from the South Barrow Team, regardless of whether they attended church or not.

You can choose to have the funeral service in one of our churches, or in the chapel at Barrow Cemetery or Crematorium (Thorncliffe).

Whilst the organisation of a funeral is taken care of through a funeral director, please contact a member of the Clergy Team, if you require information or consolation.

For more information about funerals, and the various options available to you, visit the Church of England Funeral website.
